Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using AI Kids Academy (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you are accessing the Service on behalf of a child under 18, you — as the parent or legal guardian — are agreeing to these Terms on the child's behalf and take full responsibility for their use of the Service.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

AI Kids Academy is made for children aged 6–15. Parent accounts are for adults aged 18 or older.

A child under 13 cannot register alone. The parent or legal guardian creates their own parent account and then the child's profile. By doing so, the parent or guardian:

• Confirms they are the parent or legal guardian of the child.
• Accepts these Terms and our Privacy Policy on the child's behalf.
• Takes responsibility for supervising the child's use of the Service, including its AI features, and for keeping the child's username and password safe.
• Consents to us collecting and using the child's data as our Privacy Policy describes.

Learners aged 13–17 may create their own account after confirming their age. A parent can link that account from the parent dashboard.

3. Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

• Keeping your login credentials secure and not sharing your password with anyone.
• All activity that occurs under your account.
• Notifying us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
• Ensuring the information you provide is accurate and kept up to date.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that we believe are being shared or accessed without authorisation.

4. Subscription Plans & Billing

We offer the following plans:

• Paid plans are billed monthly and start with a 7-day free trial. You add a card at checkout; the first charge happens when the trial ends unless you cancel before then.
• Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store payment card details.
• To cancel, write to us at the address below. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• Refunds are available within 7 days of the initial purchase. Contact us at kids@academl.com.
• Prices may change with 30 days notice to registered users.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service to generate, share, or store content that is harmful, abusive, hateful, or illegal.
• Attempt to bypass our AI safety filters or curated content boundaries.
• Share your account password with other users.
• Use automated scripts, bots, or scraping tools on the platform.
• Attempt to access, tamper with, or disrupt the servers, databases, or infrastructure of the Service.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of any part of the Service.
• Use the Service for commercial purposes without our written permission.

Prompts published to the public gallery pass an automated check before other children can see them, and any signed-in user can report them. Chats with the pet and the lesson helper are saved for 90 days so a linked parent can read them (see the Privacy Policy). Accounts in serious breach of these rules may be suspended without notice.

6. Intellectual Property

All content on AI Kids Academy — including course materials, illustrations, pet designs, world artwork, lesson text, quiz questions, and software — is owned by AI Kids Academy or its licensors and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You retain ownership of original content created by your child within the platform (stories, poems, projects). By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store and display that content within the platform for the purpose of providing the Service.

We will never sell or publicly publish your child's creative work without explicit permission.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. Educational outcomes may vary by child.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, AI Kids Academy shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify registered users by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

Continued use of the Service after the effective date of any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of Ontario, at our election.
